If You Are Late

We understand that being on vacation you may run late.  If you happen to wake up late please call and notify us.  Our guides are on a tight schedule, with sometimes several trips a day.  Also, remember service in the Mountains and spotty.  If we are unable to reach your guide(s), he is only required to wait 30 minutes past scheduled start time for you.  If no contact is made then we assume you are not coming and forfeit you deposit.

You may cancel up to 14 days prior to your scheduled trip date for a full refund. If you cancel less than 2 weeks prior, your trip is available for reschedule only.  We fish rain or shine so be sure to bring rain jacket with you.  However, in case of lightning and high water we can reschedule.  We also understand life happens and make decisions according to situation.

We do require a 50% deposit to secure your trip. You can call +8288374165 or come by Appalachian Outfitters to pay deposit.

Our guides work very hard making sure you have one of the best days on the water possible.  There is a lot of preparation that goes into a guide trip.  Many days must be spent on the water perfecting techniques used, in all weather conditions.  Also, most of the flies used was probably created by your guide through much trial and error.  Gratuity is not required but is greatly appreciated.  15%-25% is the customary amount, just like you would tip a server.

What Do I Need to Bring?

One of most frequent asked questions is, "what should I bring?".  I created this section to help alleviate any questions and doubts associated with booking a trip with Appalachian Outfitters.

For each trip we provide up to 6 flies per person.  After 6th fly is lost, client will be charged store cost for each fly lost.  All flies used are available for sell at Appalachian Outfitters.

One leader and all tippet are included with trip.

Lunch is provided for full day and snacks are provided for half day.

Water and cooler space are provided for clients.  We recommend everyone drink water to avoid dehydration while on water.  NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE PERMITTED!

What's Not Provided

We recommend every person in your party wears a hat.  There is no better protection from sun and wind than a hat.  Also, when fly fishing it will protect head from wild cast.  We have assorted varieties in store available for purchase.

Sunscreen of at least SPF 15 should be worn by all members of your party.  All natural sunscreen is available for purchase in store.

Bug repellent is a must when spending any time on the water.  It can mean the difference between a great day and a bad day.  All natural bug repellent is available in store for purchase.

Polarized sunglasses are a must especially when wading. We have many different styles available in store for purchase.

Wading staff is very useful for individuals who are a little unsteady.  Wading staff usually breaks down into 4 or more pieces to fit in a pouch worn at the waist.  Wading staffs are available for purchase in store.

Due to different sizes of waders and boots we are unable to rent them.  We do have popular sizes in stock for sale.

We recommend you bring your favorite rod with you for your trip.  If you need a fly rod for the day we have TFO NXT 5/6 Weight Combo available for $15.  Credit card is required for all rental items.
